Personal Insurance – Manager

Steers Insurance Limited has an immediate opening in our St. John’s office for a Manager of our
Personal Insurance group. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of supporting a
large dynamic team across multiple offices, in a fast-paced insurance office environment.

What the Role Entails:

  • Managing the day-to-day operations for the Personal Insurance Group throughout
    Newfoundland & Labrador
  • Ensuring that quality and customer service standards are met daily
  • Maintaining excellent relationships with insurance company representatives in both
    underwriting and operational management
  • Establishing strategic goals for the team by gathering pertinent business, financial, service and
    operational information and then identifying and evaluating trends and options
  • Developing and recommending various courses of action to grow the business.
  • Working effectively with all internal departments including Human Resources and Operations to
    ensure high performance of employees and ongoing development and performance
    management of all employees
  • Developing a strong team environment by motivating staff, communicating clear expectations
    and developing a positive work environment
  • Consistently monitoring results to ensure that staff are meeting production targets and
    receivables are in line with collection policy standards

The Successful candidate will have:

  • Experience in Personal Insurance
  • Insurance Designation (CAIB, CIP, FCIP or AIIC)
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience
  • Strong people management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Analytical reading and interpretation of numbers
  • Comprehensive knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The compensation package includes a
comprehensive employee medical plan, a pension plan, generous time off allowances, and other
